The cost of shape projection is made up of design, installation, and dismantling work, plus projector and media player rental and the production of the custom-cut projection panel. For short installations, the cost is weighted more toward labor, while for longer rental periods — such as six months — equipment rental makes up a larger share. The size of the installation has a direct impact on the light output required and the projector needed. We recommend contacting ShopperScreen for consultation on sizing the right solution. A price estimate for installations of different sizes can be provided as soon as the installation environment and rental period are known.
The cost of interactive projection is made up of design, installation, and dismantling work, plus projector and PC rental and the production of interactive content. For short installations, the cost is weighted more toward labor, while for longer rental periods — such as six months — equipment rental makes up a larger share. The size of the installation has a direct impact on the light output required and the projector needed. The color of the floor affects whether projection tape is needed on the surface. We recommend contacting ShopperScreen for consultation on sizing the right solution. A price estimate for installations of different sizes can be provided as soon as the installation environment and rental period are known.
When most people think of holograms, they picture the floating projections from sci-fi films that appear to hang in mid-air above a table. In reality, holograms always need a physical surface for the projected light to reflect from into the viewer’s eye. Holograms are illusions that share one common feature: a transparent background. The cost of hologram installations varies considerably depending on the size of the project and the technology best suited to the need. At the simplest end, a hologram fan device starts from €1,500. Full stage-sized holographic projections using a purpose-made hologram mesh screen start from €5,000. To get a price estimate, call ShopperScreen and describe the presentation environment and dimensions.
Shop window rear projection is implemented by applying grey or dark rear projection film to the inside surface of the glass and projecting the image onto the film from inside the retail space. The light output required depends on the ambient outdoor lighting conditions in which the image needs to be visible, and the density of the film. Darker rear projection film offers better dark tones but weaker brightness in light areas. In many cases, rear projection is not the recommended technology if the image needs to look excellent in bright daylight. In shopping center lighting conditions, however, shop window rear projection is an excellent technology for achieving a large image with sharp pixel resolution.
Outdoor projections are typically carried out by installing a standard installation projector inside a weatherproof housing. Fans inside the housing circulate air and keep the projector cool enough to operate. In freezing temperatures, the fans reduce speed to prevent the projector from receiving air that is too cold. Vandalism prevention also needs to be considered for outdoor projections. For long-term installations, projectors should be mounted in a location that is out of reach, or alternatively the ShopperScreen lockable Visual Wagon can be used.
Absolutely! In fact, working together is often key to a successful project. ShopperScreen does not have in-house graphic designers, and content production is not the core of our business. However, ShopperScreen has a wide and growing network of content producers if your own network does not have the right skills available within the required timeframe.
Absolutely! In fact, working together is often key to a successful trade show project. ShopperScreen does not build exhibition booths, and full booth construction is not the core of our business. That is why you can easily combine ShopperScreen’s services with your own exhibition builder.
ShopperScreen’s office and showroom are located at Mannerheimintie 36, and we deliver across Finland. In some cases, it may be more practical and cost-effective to arrange logistics and installation through partner companies that are already traveling to the location. Our starting point is always to go with the most cost-effective option, as long as it does not compromise the end result.
ShopperScreen began exclusively importing Sonte smart film in 2020. ShopperScreen offers Sonte smart film design and installation with experience from hundreds of projects. ShopperScreen’s smart film installers work full-time in this role and have developed their methods over the years to deliver flawless installations. In 2025, ShopperScreen completed a total of 53 installations with a combined area of 1,280 m². The majority of installations were glass walls in public sector facilities and B2B company meeting rooms.
When projecting onto smart film from behind, it is important that the lens throw ratio is no wider than 0.8:1. Lenses with a wider throw ratio create a strong hotspot effect, which shows up as uneven brightness across the image. It is also worth noting that the projector should be integrated into the same control system as the smart film, so that when the film switches to transparent the image does not remain on and project through to the other side of the glass, causing disruption for people in the space. ShopperScreen can help select the right projector and control system.
Window-grade displays differ from home televisions in several ways. Their brightness is typically 3,000 nits, around ten times that of a home TV. They also have a powerful cooling mechanism that keeps the components cool enough even when direct sunlight hits the screen and temperatures inside are high. The components in commercial displays are designed to withstand much higher operating temperatures than those in home televisions. The higher price also reflects the production volumes at which these devices are manufactured. Commercial displays are produced in significantly smaller quantities, which naturally results in a higher price than consumer products.
Lamp-based projectors are rarely manufactured anymore. They have been replaced by laser light source projectors, which have no lamps at all. Laser light sources have an extremely long lifespan, with a typical half-brightness point of 20,000 operating hours. In some laser projector models, the laser unit can be replaced. For high-end projectors, replacing the laser unit can be worthwhile when brightness has dropped too low.
For windows exposed to direct sunlight, choose a display with a minimum brightness of 3,000 nits. High Brightness displays of this type are designed to withstand the heat of the sun and remain clearly visible. In shopping center indoor windows, 500–1,000 nits is often sufficient. The screen size should be matched to how far away you want your message to reach. If the retail space is on a narrow shopping center corridor just a few meters wide, a smaller screen will do the job. If customers are approaching from tens of meters away, consider 86″ or 98″ displays, or larger LED display surfaces.
