Smart Films and Smart Glass
We have been importing Sonte smart film since 2020. It stands apart from other smart films on the market through its quality, long lifespan, and safety credentials.
Sonte smart film gives users of meeting rooms and private offices easy control over their privacy. Once installed, the glass wall can be switched from transparent to frosted and back at the press of a button. Smart film makes spaces divided by glass partition walls more versatile and practical. Compared to curtains or blinds, Sonte smart film is more hygienic and easy to clean.
Because Sonte smart film can be applied to existing glass walls, projects do not have to be expensive. In new construction, the film can be laminated between two glass panels, in which case the end product is referred to as smart glass.

Electrical Safety
Finnish electrical safety law defines which electrical products may be sold in Finland. It is useful to understand electrical equipment protection classes and the term extra-low voltage, known in regulations and standards as ELV. Electrical devices may be sold if they fall under protection classes I, II, or III. Class 0 devices may not be sold.
In smart film, electrical current runs beneath a single insulating layer, typically 0.2 mm of plastic, so the voltage of smart film products must not exceed 50VAC. Smart film operating above 50VAC requires double insulation — in practice, glass on both sides of the film. Surface-applied smart films that operate above 50VAC are available on the market, but they do not meet Finnish and EU electrical safety requirements. Sonte smart film complies with electrical safety law, operating at 45VAC. Extra-low voltage electrical devices may be built, repaired, and installed without formal electrical training.
Sonte’s installation process and all components used in installation were audited by Tukes in 2022.
